Why the heck you want to learn Spanish?
So, you want to learn Spanish. I don’t know about you but, if I were you, I would have asked myself twice – “why the heck I need to learn Spanish?” Why I am ready to take away time from my busy schedule and learn Spanish. Surely it will take anywhere between 3 months to forever (depending on the learner) to have a grasp over a strange foreign language. Again, ask yourself – why you want to learn Spanish after all? Is it business or purely academic reason that you are interested to learn Spanish? I have come across people who want to learn Spanish to be able to speak with their girlfriends or boyfriends. That makes perfect sense and a reasonably valid reason why you want to learn Spanish.
Unfortunately majority of high school students in the US struggles to find their home state on a map of the United States. Several of them never bothered reading more than a couple of books in their lifetime including the books they are supposed to read for their classroom projects. The English language is becoming battered and lack of concern is pushing it to a helpless state. Hope you know what you are doing when you say that you still want to learn Spanish.
Here is a little suggestion for you if you really think you want to learn Spanish. Before you can even begin to learn how to speak in a foreign language you will want to first learn how to speak properly in your own language. Do that, and learn where your home state is located on a map of the United States, and then you may be able to not only want to learn Spanish but actually able to learn it as well. Any desire to learn a foreign language needs to have the solid foundation of the understanding of your own language under it first and if you really want to learn Spanish then you will need to take this to heart.
The truth is that with a bigger portion of our society speaking only Spanish it is not only becoming a wish that people want to learn Spanish, but in often it is becoming a necessity. If you are aware that your future career will involve coming into contact with a wide cross section of our American society then you are going to want to learn Spanish and probably also need to learn Spanish. If you plan on entering the service industry in any way then you will want to learn Spanish. If you want to enter into government work then you will want to learn Spanish. Anything that has the possibility to put you into contact with a large cross section of American society is probably a good reason to want to learn Spanish. If you want to be able to get along in our shifting society you will want to learn Spanish.
Want to learn Spanish as a part of Higher Education?
Several educational institutions (mainly under-graduate colleges) are noticing the rise in percentage of students willing to learn Spanish and are opting Spanish as their language requirement. Bearing in mind how our time is fast evolving it should be considered as a very good decision. And if you are ready to attend college soon, you may also want to take Spanish as your language requirement. It is no more improbable that Spanish may just be a considered as a compulsory educational requirement in the US. Consequently you might also want to keep that in mind while you are on your way to find why exactly you want to learn Spanish
